Harsiddhi Mata Temple Ujjain is situated on the Eastern bank of river Shipra in one of the ancient city of world Ujjain , this city is also mentioned in ancient Hindu text as Ujjaini, Avanti , Avantika and Avantikapuri . It was the center for learning Astronomy & Astrology in the early days of Sanatan civilization .

This temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths, it has a important place in the ancient Hindu texts, according to Shiva Puran when lord Shiva was carrying away the burning dead body of Ma Sati , her elbow fell here , this place is over a hillock in the west of Mahakaal temple near the Shipra river .

The original temple at this site was supposed to be built by King Vikramaditya, at the entrance there are statue of Bharaiv Nath on both side of entrance. The present temple is built by the Maratha rulers with the impressive stone carved lamp pillars .

How this temple was built at Ujjain by King Vikramaditya legend is the King visited the Kyolo Dungar to pay his respect at the temple , he was blessed by the Harsiddhi Devi and asked him for a boon , King requested her to come and stay at Ujjain where he will worship her daily, Devi accepted the request and put a condition that she will stay at night in Ujjain and during the day she will be present at Miyani Gujarat..

According to Skandha Puran ( ancient Sanatan text ) two demons Chand and Prachand wounded the Nandi Bull to enter into the Kailash territory , Lord Shiva got angry called Ma Chandi to kill them , after her success Lord named her Harsiddhi .

The present temple is constructed by Maratha rulers  surrounded by a wall with four gates there, there are two large stone lamp post smaller is female and larger is male , at a time eleven hundred lamps are lighted , a 10th century, step well built during Parmar rulers , Ma Harsiddhi is over Shree Yantra in the sanctum  along with Ma Sarasvati and Ma Lakshmi also there is a Shri Yantra in the assembly hall with fifty one pictures of goddesses with the Beej Mantara .

Legend is that King Vikrmadtiya use to offer his head to Ma Harsddhi every twelve years, it happens eleven times that Ma reinstalled the head but on twelfth time it could not happen and King died .

Rukmini Devi Temple , Dwarka , Gujarat

Rukmini Devi Temple is also known as Rukshmani Devi Temple situated just outside the Dwarka City in the North direction near the road leading to Bet Dwarka , its construction is of  12th Century with beautiful carvings on pillars and the dome.

It is located on the banks of Bhagirathi River, the Mandir comprises of a beautiful marble deity of Devi Rukmini, with four hands or Chaturbhuja. These four hands hold Shanka, Chakra, Gada and Padma, which symbolic of  her being reincarnation of Goddess Ma Lakshmi.

Rukmini was younger sister of Rukmi and daughter of King Bhishmaka of Vidharba , Rukmi was friend of lord Krishna’s uncle Kansa and never wanted his sister to have relation with Krishna, while coming out of temple Rukmini spotted Krishna and fled with him on his chariot , Krishna won the war with Rukmi and  wanted to kill him but Rukmini prayed to forgive him and Krishna let him go after shaving his head . Krishna had 16108 wife and  made Rukmini Patrani (the chief queen ), to celebrate their marriage they invited Sage Durvasa for a feast , Durvasa accepted the invitation on a condition to accompany them if Krishna and Rukmini will pull  his  chariot instead of bull or horses, on the way Rukmini felt thirsty and requested Krishna to fetch some water for her , Krishna hit the ground with his feet and Bhagirathi appeared at that place and escaping the eyes of Sage Durvasa , gave water to Rukmini to drink,  Durvasa saw this and got angry because he felt insulted being a guest he was to be fed first , he cursed that the Dwarka will not have sweet water , that the Krishna and Rukmini will not live together for 12 years .

The Rukmini temple is built outside the Dwarka at a place where lord Krishan gave water to Rukmini and had separation due to the curse of Sage Durvasa , away from Dwarka’s Jagat Mandir, even today the drinking for Dwarka is fetch from 100 kms. away  It is widely believed among the devotees that the pilgrimage is incomplete if a devotee doesn’t go to offer prayers at Rukmini Temple even if he worshiped the Lord at Dwarkadheesh temple.

Yatra Chardham – Sri Badrinath

Sri Badrinath Dham is situated at a height of 3415 meters from the sea level on the right banks of river Alaknanda between Nar and Narayan mountains , in the back drop is the Neelkanth peak , this place was re established by Adi Shankarcharya in Eight Centenary , legend is that the black Shaligram stone idol was lying in the bed of Alaknanda river and was taken out by the Shankaracharya to establish it in the cave near the Tapt Kund .

The present temple  was built by King of Garhwal afterwards there were changes and renovations done because of the earthquake and rebuilt in the year 1803, it is a 50 ft tall stone structure with top covered with gold gilt roof , there is a tall arched gate after the flights of stairs the walls are painted blue, red and yellow giving a view of a Buddhist Mut , the Garbha griha is having the main idol of Lord Badrinath sitting in a Padmasan mudra under a gold canopy Badri tree , surrounded by the idols of Nar and Narayan, Narad , Ganesha, Udhava, Narsimaha ( the forth incarnation of lord Vishnu) Ma Lakshmi , Kuber and Garuda Nav Durga ( nine incarnations of Ma Durga ) , before entering the temple pilgrims consider to have bath in the Tapt Kund just next to the main entrance .

When Lord Badri was meditating here the Ma Lakshmi was standing next to him sheltering the Lord from the harsh weather and turned into a Badri tree .

It is said once Lord Shiva and Ma Parvati were in deep meditation here , a small child came crying disturbing the  Lord , Ma Parvati asked the child what he wanted , the child replied that he wanted the Badrinath for meditation, they discovered that this child was none other than Lord Narayan they left the place and moved to Kedarnath.

In Bhagvat Puran it is said that Lord Vishnu in his incarnation as Rishi Nar and Narayan are in deep meditation for the welfare of all the living beings , according to Skandha Puran there is no better palace in this universe than Badrinath , according to Padma Puran this place is full of unlimited spiritual treasures.

 

It is also said that the person born with Birth Sun Sign ( Rashi ) Sagittarius ( Dhanu), Leo (Shimha) and Taurus (Maesh) must pay a visit once in their life time at Sri Badrinath Dham.
